So, you parked your car and when you come back its not there…What do you do now?
The first thing to do, is call the police department for the area which you left it. Here is why….
If it mas towed for unauthorized parking- The company that towed it has 2 hours to report the impound to the police department. The police department would then know what company has it.
If your vehicle broke down and you left it on the side of the road- the police department follow a process to have a tow company remove the potential hazard from the roadway. The police department would know which company has it
Finally, if you parked your car and its not there when you return and none of the situations above apply- it is possible that someone has stolen your vehicle. In which case you would want to call the police to report that its missing. (Who knows, maybe the person who stole it abandoned it on the roadway after running out of gas and when the officer checks the vin to request a tow for an abandoned vehicle it would come back belonging to you, in which case- the police department will tell you which company has it.
In any case…. the way to find your missing car is to make one phone call. Or you can try to call all 30+ tow companies that service an area and hope to locate the one that has it.
